Alumnae Circles

Looking for a way to tap into that great WLC energy?

In 2010, we will continue to meet the fourth Tuesdays on each month, January through October. Each monthly meeting is held at an alum's home. Informal, pot luck meals are from 6-7 p.m. At 7 p.m. we move into "circle time" and dialogue. The intent of the circle time is to have similar sharing and insights as was experienced in our individual WLC retreat year. It's an opportunity for deep listening and personal reflection, sharing our stories, questions and insights. We conclude our evening at 9 p.m. Each circle stands alone, you do not have to have been part of previous circles. Circles are intended to be "drop in" style -- so you can get a shot of WLC whenever you need to ground yourself again.

We welcome anyone who has been a participant in the Center for Emerging Leadership's year-long retreat program to be a part of these once a month gatherings. In the past four years of alum circles 5 to 15 women have gathered each month to continue the kind of "work" we did in our year-long groups. Whether small or large in numbers, each gathering has meaning and that "WLC spirit" is captured.

Contact Norma Smith Olson for locations or to be added to the monthly e-mail list.

We know that it may be difficult or impossible for alumnae outside the Twin Cities to participate. We hold you in our hearts and invite you to attend any time you are able. We also invite alumnae who want to start an alum learning Circle in your area to contact Norma Smith Olson for support in making this happen.

Women's Leadership Community Retreat Series gave me an opportunity to view myself in a new way—a fresh way. I was initially apprehensive about how and where I would fit with the group, however, this concern was very short lived. The group came together in amazing ways. I felt truly honored to share such an intimate and powerful time.  - Estella Howard
